Second Grade classes read the book Pop! during their library time and learned about the invention of bubble gum. They even got to learn how to blow a bubble and have a bubble blowing contest! As a follow up to the book, students paired up with their writing partners and developed a project planning sheet to produce a book trailer about Pop!. The students learned how to use a web 2.0 tool called Animoto to produce their movies. They choose a style, music, pictures and entered text to advertise what they felt were the important highlights of the book that needed to be shared. The students had a great time using their ELA knowledge through a new technology tool!
