Here are a few ways that she uses technology:
- Promethean Board
- Document Camera
- iTunes
- ActiVotes
- Online Resources
- Quaver Music
- Powerpoint
- Word
- Laptops
What is a
favorite lesson that you do that incorporates technology?
I'm really enjoying integrating the Quaver resources and website into the music curriculum this year. There are many interactive activities that I can use with students and that they are really enjoying. One project that I recently completed with the third graders was about sound effects. Students watched different video (no sound) clips and then had to record themselves as the Folly artists for that clip. Quaver has a bunch of different sound effects and the ability to record so students were able create their clip and then watch it back. It was really fun!
What is the one instructional
technology that you feel you could no longer live without?
Classroom projection and sound system.
If wishes could come true, what
technology would you want to have available in your classroom to enhance
instruction?
Laptops for all students
What are your thoughts on using
technology in the classroom as part of instruction?
Technology is an amazing tool that can be used to engage learners at every level. I have seen higher motivation with students completing projects that I was able to make more 'real' by incorporating technology. We discuss how technology is used in real world situations all the time and the students are engaged and excited to discover exactly how that sound was made or what equipment was used to make a certain thing happen. Technology is all around us and it's time for us to embrace it!
